Glendale Lutheran School offers a fun and engaging learning environment for our youngest students. Our goal for Early Learners is to encourage creativity, curiosity about the world around us, and a love of learning.
Children in Glendale Lutheran’s 3-year-old preschool class do their work through their play. Each day our students enjoy a familiar routine while exploring new topics and projects. Letters, shapes, colors and seasons are part of the daily conversation as the children move through pretend play, sensory activities, and games that develop fine motor skills.
Class Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 9:00-11:30
Pre-K at Glendale Lutheran School is a time for curiosity and developmental growth. Students ask lots of questions and are encouraged to problem-solve and find solutions with their classmates and teachers. Starting in Pre-K, students begin visiting our Reading Room where we use reading games and a phonics-based curriculum. We also introduce math thinking through activities like counting objects, sorting, finding patterns, measuring, and sequencing.
Class Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 - Noon
Our Kindergarten students enjoy classic activities like Show & Tell and Circle Time, but they are also introduced to project stations and rotating subject-based classrooms. Not only does this program keep kids moving, it encourages time-management and independence. Students continue their work in our phonics-based Reading Room where they are free to progress at their own pace. We also take an individualized approach in our math classroom. Students break into groups of 3 or 4 for math thinking activities and an introduction to numerical relationships through addition, subtraction and simple fractions as students are ready.
Full-day Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 3:30
